Skyword’s Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) position will co-lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including talent acquisition, HR technology solutions, and policy and compliance management. This newly created role will work closely with the CFO, their counterpart, and the HR team to facilitate the activities necessary to meet the HR and company objectives. The VP, HRBP will be a key member of the HR team and will interact with all levels of employees. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Sr. HRBP contributes to Skyword’s performance by providing tactical and strategic consulting on team member and organizational development strategies in support of our business objectives. Performs HR related duties at the professional level while supporting more than one functional group. Will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: talent acquisition; employee relations consultation; policy and compliance management, performance and compensation consultation; and talent management consultation. May carry out additional responsibilities to include organizational design; employee development initiatives and training. This includes, but is not limited to:
Manages the day to day activities of direct report(s)
Provides performance and development feedback to direct report(s)
Partners with their counterpart, and the leadership team to understand and execute the organizations human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning
Provides support and guidance to HR team members, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations
Oversees the talent acquisition function, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required
Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
A minimum of ten years of relevant human resource experience preferred
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired
The Sr. HRBP will work in Skyword’s Washington D.C. office during regular business hours. Work outside of normal business hours may be required from time to time. Travel to other office locations will be required, approximately 20% of the time.
