Reporting to the Director of Revenue Planning and Analysis, the Senior Accountant will help perform a wide variety of recurring routine accounting functions requiring understanding and application of fundamental accounting principles and practices.
Completes the monthly general ledger closing process via preparation of accounting journal entries, performing analysis of accounts and accruals, and posting journal entries into the system.
Processes payroll for review by Senior Accounting manager.
Prepares monthly reconciliations for assigned accounts including research and preparing any correcting entries for approval and posting.
Prepares cash projections and other treasury functions.
Assists in preparation for yearly audit.
Prepares monthly financial reporting package for internal and external use.
Participates in unit/department performance improvement activities to ensure the development and implementation of processes that support quality service and effective work performance.
Participates in all mandatory staff meetings and training programs to ensure continued understanding of all departmental policies, procedures and performance improvement programs and processes.
Maintains accounting records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Performs ad hoc reporting and other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
CPA preferred by not mandatory
4-5 years of accounting experience
Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
Experience in software related industry a plus
Able to works in a faced paced environment and able to multi-task
Past experience with Intacct a plus
Detail and deadline-oriented
Good communication and listening skills, both verbal and written.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Proficient in Excel (Pivot tables, VLookUps)
